CTAO – The Cyprus Third Age Observatory organises a European Political Conference, addressed to mobilize candidates MEPs to the next European election around age and ageing.

The conference intends to gain support from 8 current and candidate MEPs in Cyprus on the Manifesto of AGE Platform Europe “The Europe We Want Is For All Ages”, and to encourage the public to vote for candidates who support AGE’s recommendations in the upcoming European elections (June 2024).

In line with its goals, CTAO is organizing a live-streamed conference entitled “European Political Conference on Active, Healthy And Dignified Ageing” under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus. The event will take place on 8th December 2023 at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.

Opened by the President of CTAO, and hosting a speech by the Secretary General of AGE Platform Europe, the event will see the participation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, together with the Ministers of Health, Minister of Justice, the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare and the Deputy Minister of Tourism. Commission Vice-President, Dubravka Šuica, will provide a recorded speech and four MEPs have confirmed their participation, alongside many other distinguished attendees.
